The day 2 started and the first session went well for Australia as they rattled up the English men for 302 with Cummins and Starc getting three wickets each and not to forget Lyon was wonderful in his bowling but a bit unlucky to get just 2 wickets . Hazlewood's poor form continued even today and hope he'd be better from the next innings.
The Aussie men Warner and Bancroft came to the crease and it didn't go well for Aussies as they lost four quick wickets. The Aussies were 76/4 at one stage . But the skipper Steve Smith and Shaun Marsh played a wonderful test game by putting up 89 run stand . They didn't just bring up the runs but they controlled England's bowling tempo . Both the batsmen played well and the skipper Steve Smith played some classical shots which were completely sublime.
At the end on the second day, the Australians were 165 for four and trailing by 137 runs, with Smith unbeaten on 64 and Shaun Marsh not out 44. Marsh was under criticism when he was selected into the squad but his wonderful play today proved them wrong . Both the teams are at same level by now and it's too early to predict the winner of the match . Australia would wish to take a lead of 100 runs which is quite tough but not until the No.1 test batsman Steve Smith is at the crease .
